Mother Earth’s Garden

Wimpy Garden

by Rebecca on June 8th, 2007

You may have noticed that I include very few pictures of my own garden. The truth of the matter is, I’m just getting back into gardening and I’m limited to a small vegetable patch, tending and planting the gardens at my in laws house and the apartment we rent, and a growing container garden on my porch. My husband and I have plans to buy a house in the near future, and I have a vision for what my garden will look like when we do. In the mean time, bear with me and I’ll do my best to have tips and info, though most of the pictures featured will be other peoples gardens, or one I am helping to tend. The only gardens that are entirely my own is my vegetable garden, and the containers and pots I grow on my porch! It is some what frustrating at times, especially when I want to do something like put in a pond, or plant a tree, or some other more drastic change to the overall look of a space. I will just have to be patient I guess, and wait for the day when I have a yard of my own to go crazy with!

Been there. At this one apartment all I had was a tiny patio for growing. I actually tried to grow watermelons and tomatoes (but in way too small of pots) — Never said I was a good gardener; just avid. Right now we’re in an apartment again and I can’t wait to get some land. It’s frustrating if you feel the need to grow.

Hey, we started out with window boxes when we rented. You can do a lot with containers. Where there’s a will, there’s a way…And you’ve got the will. :)
