White Lilacs
My sister has a beautiful white lilac bush. We were over for a cookout this weekend, and I couldn’t resist snapping a shot. It was in full bloom, and I think you all know how much I love lilacs in full bloom.

Beautiful! I love lilacs – the purple ones are my favorite flower. But these are gorgeous for white. Nice shots.
That is very beautiful. I think I prefer the white.
Ah, spring at last, gorgeous!!
That’s so beautiful! I used to have purple lilacs outside my window when I was a kid. That’s how I learned that spring was coming. This picture made me nostalgic…
We also have two white lilac trees. This is our second year in this house with the trees. The first year we notice that the blooms were lacking. Even though we live on the west coast and have had a terrible spring, we have notice that this year we also don’t have as many blooms as the other lilac trees in the neighborhood. We were wondering if anyone had any hints on how to make our trees bloom to thier potential next year. They both our over 12 feet tall and could be very spectacular given the right care.
Can anyone help me? How and when do I prune my white Lilac tree?
I have a white lilac that has sporadic foliage. Specifically, it is all leafy from the ground up about 2 feet then there are bare branches for another 2 feet, then lush foliage again. It flowered well this year but, it is not an attractive shrub because of the bare branches. Does anyone have ideas about what might be causing this or what might be done to fix it?
