Fall Wildflowers~ Asters

The asters are in bloom in woodlands and meadows all around our area right now. Asters produce a tiny, delicate, daisy-like flower in the fall. They’re one of my favorite fall blooms.

They come in a whole range of colors from white to dark purple, and look lovely in a fall flower arrangement. The most popular type of aster is the New England Aster, that is the one you see most often growing in fields and woodlands.

Nature’s Patchwork Quilt

I think the meadows and wildflower fields look like Mother Nature’s quilt this time of year, with beautiful flowers blooming in bright beautiful colors. Here is Mother Nature’s quilt from far away.

Here are some of the individual pieces of this meadow quilt. A few of the flowers she sowed together include, bee balm, black eyed susans, purple and white coneflowers, and chicory.

I’m not sure of the name of this flower? If anyone knows please let me know.

Isn’t it wonderful how Mother Nature sews all these wonderful pieces together to make her beautiful quilt?

A Walk Through A Meadow~ Mother Nature’s Garden

My son went to a summer nature camp every day this last week, and on Friday I went with him. We had a great time hiking through the woods and meadows, enjoying Mother Nature’s garden. I thought I’d share a few images with you of the flowers in the meadow.
Some of our walk was through the woods, and down around a small pond. Check out the milkweeds. It always makes me happy to see milkweed pods, I know it makes the butterflies happy too.
