Skin MD: Best Lotion for Gardener’s

About a week ago I was contacted by 21st Century Formulations to test a new product of theirs. I’m always willing to test new products, but with a warning that I will be brutally honest about it. I agreed to test their Skin MD Natural lotion and it was shipped to me within two days. “Well, this is a good start,” I thought, “at least they got it to me quickly.” After reading the info provided with it, the claim of this lotion is that it works better than other lotions. Well of course that is nothing new, but after using this lotion for a week now, I would have to agree. Being a stay at home wife, and working in the garden can really wreak havoc my skin. Cleaning chemicals, dirt, fertilizers, dusting; all these things can really dry out your skin. Skin MD Natural works to shield your skin from harmful everyday conditions while helping your body restore it’s natural moisture from underneath. This video does a great job at showing how Skin MD protects your skin from materials that suck all the moisture out.

So here are my thoughts after trying this lotion:

Does it work? - Yes. I noticed an immediate difference the first time I put it on. While it takes a few days to take full effect, it does make a noticeable difference. And you don’t need to use very much at one time. Just a small amount. The first day I used it I was cleaning our house. Usually dusting and cleaning can leave my hands feeling chalky and dry. That didn’t happen with this lotion. It also did great a few days later when I was working in my garden pulling weeds and pulling up dying annuals.

How does it feel? - Not greasy, and my makes skin feel smooth. The real test of this question came when I asked my husband to try it. He absolutely hate’s lotion. I can never get him to use it, no matter how dry his skin is. He won’t even wear sun block because of the greasy or sticky texture it has. He tried this lotion once, and now he uses it more than I do! It did wonders for the dry skin on his hands and elbows. If I can get my husband to approve of any lotion, it must be good.

How much does it cost? - At first I thought it was way too expensive for the amount you get. Around $20 for a 4oz bottle. But I’ve used it consistently for a week and still have almost a full bottle. While $20 for a bottle of lotion is not what I’m willing to spend every month, this 4oz bottle is enough for my household for at least two months. While that’s still a little on the price-y side, it does work well, and is more worth it if you have chronically dry skin. Where it may get too expensive is if you have more than one or two people using it and it runs out more quickly.

Would I buy this again for myself? - Absolutely. It did everything that it claimed and more. I’m completely sold.

Would I buy this for someone else? - Yes again. I let a few of my friends try this, and even sent a few of the samples to my Mom. Everyone loved it. Something that works this well should not be kept to myself.

Well, there you have it. I’m always wary when companies want to send me products to review. If I don’t like it, I’m certainly going to say that in the review. So for their sake, lets hope they have a good product. Skin MD Natural is one of the good products. It does everything it claimed, which is very important when looking at any product or company. I would definitely buy this lotion in the future.

You are right on about this cream. I love the way it is like a barrier. It is on my Winter MUST HAVE list!

It sounds a little like Silicone Glove (was that Avon?). I am always washing dishes and washing my hands at the coffee shop, and my hands get especially dry and cracked in the winter — It is COLD in that drive-thru window, folks! This product sounds intriguing.

I thought that too. But it doesn’t use silicone, and I think it feels better. You actually feel like you’re wearing a glove with that Avon product, it has such a weird texture. This feels much more natural.

Okay, your review is more compelling to me than that video… lol how weird is that?

I just want to know who the first nutcase in that group was to say, “Hey! I’ll pour it on my hand!” LOL

And why did they need a gynecologist on hand for their creation? HA!

In any event - it does look like a good product, I wonder how it works on feet and elbows though? Those, combined with my cuticles, are probably the driest parts on my body, because I’m what they call a “lotion whore” LOL

ROFL I wondered about the gynecologist too. Maybe it has something to do with Women’s skin being different or something, or maybe they just wanted to be “thorough” in their testing.
It worked great on my hubby’s elbows. They are usually like alligator skin. This lotion helped a lot.
