September Garden Bloggers Bloom Day
I can’t believe it’s mid-September already! The summer has definitely flown by! I don’t have nearly as many beautiful blooms for you this month.
Yesterday what was left of Hurricane Ike came roaring through the Ohio valley, with 60-70 mile an hour winds. It wreaked havoc on what was left of my garden. So I guess I’m in the same shape as Carol of May Dream’s Garden, the host of this wonderful monthly bloom fest.
My garden was already looking dry from over a month with no rain. Now it’s dry and wrecked! It’s a good thing it’s fall.
Here are some blooms up around the house that were spared the wrath of Ike’s wind.
I have some potted annuals, and hanging baskets on the porch that were sheltered from the wind.
I also have some miniature roses, hostas, and herbs up by the house, and sheltered from the worst of the wind.
And the Autumn Joy Sedum would never let me down. It weathered the storm beautifully.
My thoughts are with everyone in Texas and Louisiana, if Ike was powerful enough to wreak havoc in the Ohio valley, I can’t even imagine what it was like to feel the wrath on the Gulf Coast.

Good ol’ sedum never let’s us down, does it? It seems to bloom regardless.
