Pumpkins Everywhere!
We have a local festival every year called the Bradford Pumpkin Show. It’s quite a little festival. And you guessed it, everything has to do with pumpkins.
I have a few photos I took this afternoon. I hoped to have some of the painted and carved pumpkins entered in the pumpkin show, but the building wasn’t open yet tonight.
I did take a few photos. The first one is the large pumpkin display on the main street. It looks like a pumpkin tree, with a few mums added to help add color.
Big Hint: Make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post (past the photos).
Here’s a close-up shot, I love the contrast.
Here’s the winning entry for the largest pumpkin, it tipped the scales at over 718 pounds.
Here are just some of the pumpkins on display to be sold at the show.
The show also features prize winning squash and gourds.
I’ll try to get some painted and carved pumpkin photos to share with you in the next couple days. They go all out in the decorating department, and there are always some interesting pumpkin works of art.

We have a pumpkin show in our area too–it’s one of our favorite fall events. There are vendors with every kind of pumpkin food–pumpkin doughnuts, pumpkin fudge, pumpkin burgers! Things you would never think of. Our favorite part is the parade with high school bands and local groups. We almost always run into someone we haven’t seen in a long time while we’re there, too. It’s a great way to celebrate fall.

My 6-y-o keeps leaving me notes expressing her NEED for a pumpkin. I don’t think I can stall much longer. I just hate to see pumpkins rotting on the porch.

One vendor at our local farm market had knee high pumpkins for sale for $4 per. My first thought is…. How many pies can I get out of that thing? :)

I love fall and pumpkins! My neighbor knows I LOVE The Little Mermaid, and he came over today and saw one that had Ariel’s face painted on one and brought it home and gave it to me! I have the best neighbor!
Thanks! :)

I wonder what they are doing with the gigantic pumpkin…
Pumpkin-carving is not so popular here in Austria but for the last couple of years, people have been picking up the trend.
