Plans For Easy Bird Feeders

homemade bird feeder I love watching the birds in my garden. It’s one of my favorite things to do on cold winter days. To enjoy the birds in the winter, I like to plan ahead in the fall. I check my bird feeders about this time of year to make sure they will make it through the winter. If a bird feeder looks like it’s seen better days I either take it up to the barn for repair, or discard it and build a replacement.

I was looking for some easy bird feeder plans for myself earlier today, and I thought I’d share some of the results.

Here are some plans for bird feeders you can make yourself. Some are easier than others. All of the plans are free, you provide the lumber, or other materials, muscle power, and time.

Grab the kids and make it a family project. They’ll love watching the birds come to eat out of a feeder they helped create.

Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder (not so easy, but sometimes necessary)

Large Bird Feeder (It doesn’t look easy but, it looks like it will store several days worth of bird food)

Pop Bottle Bird Feeder (the best part is you’re recycling)

Make bird seed ornaments to hang from your trees, then you don’t need a bird feeder at all.

Cute Milk Carton Bird Feeder- Paint a milk carton with non-toxic paint, and no one will know you made it yourself.

A couple more ideas for homemade bird feeders.

Have fun, and happy bird feeding!
