Name that Plant Winner
If you didn’t see it last week, I posted about a tropical house plant that I impulsively bought because it just look so cool! I had no idea what it was though, and so sent out the challenge to everyone to help me identify it. And the winner is . . . . . my Aunt Alice! She suggested it was a Gold Dust plant. I looked it up and it seemed to fit the best, so congratulations to Alice! Some other suggestions were sent to me in email and in talking with some friends. The very close runner up was my husband who suggested it was a variety of Dieffenbachia which can be varied in it’s leaf color and pattern, including spots. This surprised me greatly since I always got the impression my husband was slightly annoyed with my obsession with plants! Thanks to everyone who guess!

That does look like the gold dust croton. Put ‘er in a steamy bathroom with good light. Hmmm, I read that somewhere just recently….LOL

Why, yes! I do think I’ve read that some where as well! LOL I came across a few lists like that in gardening books, but very few on line. Perhaps I just wasn’t typing in the right search words! I found it very useful since we have a small foyer and little to no light during the day in our bigger rooms, so it was very difficult to find plants that would grow well. I thought I would share!
