Mums Help Brighten Fall Days
When most of the other flowers in your garden are done blooming, and looking brown, mums (Chrysanthemums) are coming to life. Most of them even come in the colors of autumn, in hues of red, yellow, and orange. A few add contrasts to the fall garden of lavender, or white.
This time of the year mums are easy to find in garden centers, local supermarkets and roadside stands. They’re usually purchased as potted plants, and make a great addition to container gardens.
They also look wonderful added to fall displays and floral arrangements.
You can also plant your mum in the garden or border. If you’re planning to plant your mum, try to get it in the ground at least 6 weeks before the first hard freeze.
If you plant your mum it will reward you with blooms every fall for many years to come.
Mums enjoy soil rich in nutrients, with good drainage. Compost and mulch will help give your mum a good start.

Thanks Tomato Lady, I actually took that photo a few weeks ago at our county fair. They were even more beautiful than the photo shows:)
