May Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day
Every month May Dream’s Garden hosts Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day. Nothing in my garden wants to bloom this year. Overall this spring has been cool and wet (not just damp, WET). I think that’s why everything seems to be behind schedule in the bloom department. I have several buds, but I think they’re waiting for a sunny day to burst into full bloom, and we haven’t had many of those.
My daffodils, cherry blossoms, yellow tulips, and lilacs have come and gone, they were all spectacular while they lasted.
I have one lonely tulip still blooming, the rest are looking scraggly. It’s not the greatest photo, not sure how I got a black background.
The cranesbill geranium is happily blooming away outside my back door. I love it’s tiny purple blooms.
My irises are almost blooming… if we’d just get a little sunshine.

I didn’t take part in Bloom Day because there is nothing to show. Of course today the lily of the valley decided to open up, a day after the fact. Next month I’ll be ready for sure.

Sounds like my irises they’re in full bloom yesterday, but I waited all day yesterday for them to show their glory. Nada.

[…] Today the white iris is in full bloom, and we have full sunshine. Why not yesterday for garden blogger’s bloom day? […]

I have a cranesbill geranium just like that one, a passalong from one of my sisters, so I don’t know the variety. Do you?
And it has been a cool, wet spring for me, too, delaying the blooms. But it seems when plants are blooming, they are as full and lush as I’ve ever seen them.
Thanks for joining in for bloom day!

Carol, I don’t know the variety. I got cranesbill from my mom.
I agree the blooms are spectacular, I’ve looked back at last years photos, and this year everything is fuller. Including all of our fruit trees.
