Impulse Plant Buying: Name that plant!

I bought this plant on a whim. I thought it looked pretty cool with all the spots on the leaves. The trouble is, I have no idea what it is! The only identification that was given on the tag was “tropical plant.” This might give you a clue where I bought it, since Wal-mart has a tendency to label almost every house plant it sells with this title, and gives little information on the care or requirements for the plant. For now I have it receiving moderate light and
keeping the soil moist, but I have no clue how big it will get or if it needs any special care. So here’s a challenge to you all! If you can tell me what type of plant this is, I’d be very appreciative, and I’ll post the winner in a few days. Either a common name or a genus will be fine! Hope some one gets it!

Rebecca,
I think it might be a Gold-Dust Plant. My house plant book says it needs bright indirect light, water about every 3 days (enought to keep the soil evenly moist). Hope this helps.

Your plant is a croton. Slow growing ..makes a huge bush in South Florida. Grows in shade and full sun. Needs lots of water to get bigger, but will do ok without as well.I have never had in in a pot..just the garden
