Illegal Logging In The Amazon
I seem to be on an environmental kick lately. I suppose that is what happens when you read too many nature magazines! I read a very interesting article in the Smithsonian about illegal logging in the Amazon Rainforest. 8,800 acres a day are cut down in the Amazon. I was especially shocked to find that local tribe leaders are assassinated by logging companies if they try to stop it. Here’s a video that really brings illegal logging anywhere, close to home.
