Ice Storm Aftermath

We’ve had no electric for almost 24 hours now courtesy of the ice storm. It’s really sad that the main thing I miss is being able to go online and post to my blogs (and a hot shower). Other than that my son and I have played games, listened to a little AM/FM radio, and been perfectly content.
The electric company says there are so many houses out of power at this point it could take up to three or four days to get out power back. I’m really hoping it’s sooner than that!
I am posting this from a library about 20 minutes from my house. Our local
downtown is completely without power, which includes the library. Thank goodness I have a laptop and can travel.
The photos from the last post were taken last night. I had everything finished, and was ready to upload, but I didn’t hit the button fast enough and the power went out.

Here are some photos from this morning. The broken limb is a major branch on one of the biggest trees on out property. The limbs on the power lines are normally several feet away. Our yard looks like a war zone! We’ll have some major clean up over the next few weeks. The shot of the creek shows all the trees that are down in the water (they’re not normally).
It’s sunny out now and the sun is relfecting off the ice, it’s beautiful but soooo destructive!
