I Have GADS- Gardening Attention Distraction Syndrome
Before Christmas I found out I was a gardening geek (OK, I already knew I was a geek). Now I find out I have GADS- Gardening Attention Distraction Syndrome. Thanks to Carol at May Dreams Gardens I know what to call the constant state of distraction I have when I’m gardening.
According to Carol you may have GADS if you’ve ever gone into your garden to do one thing (like pull weeds), and ended up plucking tomatoes, clipping gladiolas, turning that compost pile, plucking some mint… When you get back in the house you remember you went out to pull weeds, and you didn’t pull one weed.
I knew I had CHADS- Cleaning House Attention Distraction Syndrome, I start with sweeping cobwebs in the kitchen, and somehow within minutes I’m cleaning the bedroom closet (and the cobwebs are still hanging in the kitchen).
I also think I have BADS- Blogging Attention Distraction Syndrome, I start to update one of my blogs, and a couple minutes later I’m creating a post for a completely different blog.
Ack! No wonder I never get anything done!
