Hungry Birds
I have a habit of feeding animals around our house, especially during winter. Mostly I feed stray cats, but lately I’ve taken to feeding birds after discovering that the birds were eating the cat food I was leaving out! I was leaving the house one morning and discovered curious little tracks leading to the bowl I put food in. After seeing that there was not food this morning the bird turned and flew away as you can see from the picture! “This is strange,” I thought. “A bird eating cat food?” I kept an eye on it for a couple of days to see if birds really did have a taste for this kind of food. Low and behold, every morning I put food out, a scrawny little sparrow would pick out what it wanted and would be followed by a few stray cats to finish the rest. “This little sparrow must be either really brave, or really hungry!” I exclaimed to the closest person, who in this case wasn’t a person at all, but my orange tabby Elijah. So I started putting out two bowls. One with cat food, and one with bird seed. Of course when the little sparrow discovered the bird seed, he gave up the nasty cat food and told all his friends. Now we have both cats and birds coming to our porch. So far no casualties have been reported with this strange arrangement. They all seem to be getting along pretty well, eating together in harmony. I think I’ll be getting a wild bird feeder soon though, just in case. I must say all the extra visitors have been a great entertainment to my two indoor kitties!

I have to admit, I really like your style of writing. It’s entertaining. Probably more so because I know that you are just like your writing.
