Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day~ December 2008

I don’t have anything blooming out in my garden this month, but I have plenty blooming inside! The potted geraniums in my laundry room, the other flowers in my kitchen are still blooming away this month.

I also have some paper whites I forced just starting to bloom. They should look spectacular just in time for Christmas.

I went to Lowe’s this weekend and found this huge poinsettia on sale for $7.95. So now it’s happily blooming away in my living room window sill. Adding some wonderful Christmas cheer. The check out lady at the store was cracking up at me trying to carry it and about 5 rolls of Christmas wrapping paper through the self check out lane. It probably did look pretty funny since I’m vertically challenged (5′1") and the plant’s almost as tall as I am (3ft).

Great post. It’s so nice to have those inside blooms when it’s cold and nasty outside

Lucky you to have some paperwhites blooming for Christmas. Mine are taking their sweet time and look to be January blooms.

Thanks for joining in for bloom day!

[...] I do have several potted plants that I brought in last fall, and they’re still blooming their little hearts out. I have a couple geraniums, and a begonia that don’t even realize it’s January. My poinsettia’s still blooming, but it doesn’t look as good as it did for December’s Garden Blogger Bloom Day. [...]
