Food Network Has You Eating Green
I was browsing through The Food Network earlier tonight, and discovered they have a whole section devoted to eating green. They discuss the criteria for organic, sustainable, natural, and locally grown food. They also discuss hormone free, free range, grass fed, and antibiotic free, and the definitions for those terms. It’s a nifty little guide.
I was there browsing for some spring vegetable recipes, and they didn’t disappoint in that area either.
Check out the Food Network’s recipes for:
Grilled Chicken with Brie and Baby Spinach Salad
The Barefoot Contessa has Green Spring Vegetables (these look yummy I’m ready for the asparagus)
Yum! I’m ready for those crunchy spring vegetables!

I’m so excited. Our asparagus plants have started shooting up. And boy do they go. We get to harvest a little this year, but next year is when we get to fully harvest the plants. I can’t believe how fast it grows. In a day, I think the shoots popped up 5 inches!

That’s exciting! Ours aren’t out of the ground yet, we’ve got a few weeks yet. They do grow fast when they come up. You have about a day window for harvest.
