Don’t Forget to Dig Those Bulbs
Don’t forget to dig up your cannas, tuberous begonias, caladium or gladiolus bulbs and tubers after the first frost. In some of the southern zones these bulbs can make it through the winter if you mulch them heavily, but in the north they’ll have to be dug up and replanted in the spring.
You can store your bulbs in a cool dry place, I store mine in the cellar. My mom stores hers in the closet.
Check your bulbs through the winter to make sure none of them are molding or rotting. Plant them out in the ground in the early spring, and be rewarded with new blooms and foliage next summer.
