Donate Your Garden Extras
With the cost of living up, and the number of donations to food banks steadily decreasing in the last few years many food kitchens are low on funds and food this year. Don’t forget about the poor and hungry during this holiday season.
In many areas draught has decreased the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables available. Increasing the cost of these precious commodities. If you have excess end of season vegetables available, contact your local food kitchen to see if they’d like a fresh donation.
If your garden is done for the year, consider donating a few dollars, or some canned goods to a local food kitchen. In some places $1 can feed 3-4 people. Even the smallest donation can man a lot to those who are hungry.
