Desperate Landscapes on DIY
The DIY network has a new show called Desperate Landscapes. They’ll take the ugliest yards and transform them into outdoor show places. It’s really interesting to watch them make changes to the landscaping, then see the end result.
They also invite you to submit a photo of your yard to their website (whether your yard is the good, the bad, or the ugly). Desperate Landscapes will be airing on Tuesdays at 9pm ET, check out the website for complete listings.
I’m not a big TV fan, but DIY, cooking, and gardening shows usually get my attention. Here’s a short clip with the host Jim Cameron briefly explaining the benefits of catching rainwater to water your lawn.

We have a neighbor who has tried fixing his yard a number of times, only to start and not finish any project. He has two young children and they are expecting another soon. The father stays busy with construction work and a hobby of racing cars locally. Although we feel for him, we are afraid that his house will drag ours down in value when we try to sell…which we hope to do next year. PLEASE HELP!!
