Christmas Ornaments From the Garden
I love to use dried flowers from my garden in my Christmas ornaments. They don’t store well, so I usually dry new flowers and refill my little baskets each year. I use a small floral Styrofoam ball cut in half, inserted into a small basket. I cover the Styrofoam with sphagnum moss, then insert my favorite dried flowers. It only takes a few minutes to fill the little baskets.
In the arrangement pictured here I have horehound, miniature roses, and boxwood. I try to use a good mixture of greens and florals in the baskets. I make a couple each year for my tree.
I also usually take some mini, 2-3″ grapevine wreaths and hot glue baby’s breath, miniature roses, small pine cones, boxwood, leftover evergreen pieces, herbs and whatever else I have around the house or garden. These make really cute ornaments for the tree, or decorations for wrapped Christmas presents, and gift bags.
Tie a raffia string to the top of the wreaths to attach them to the Christmas tree. You can also tie raffia to the top of the flower baskets if the flowers come up to high to hang it on the tree with the basket handle. Sometimes I just sit the baskets back on the branches.

What a great idea! I love it. And the bonus is you could really try all kinds of great designs depending on what you grow. GREAT post.
PS Could I have said “great” much more
