My hydrangeas are just starting to bloom. They’re one of my favorite flowers for drying, crafting, bouquets, and just to leave blooming in the garden for winter interest. Their blooms dry to a light brown color, and last all winter in my Ohio Garden.

My friend Jennifer at Tree Hugging Family pointed this video out to me, so I could share it with Mother Earth’s Garden readers.
The video was created by the nonprofit group Kitchen Gardeners International, the group who’s running the “Eat the View” campaign.
It’s a really cute history you can share with your children on the history of gardens at the White House.

“Eat the View” is a campaign with a goal of returning edible landscapes to the White House.
