I’ve never been much of one to buy my plants from my local Wal-Mart, they usually don’t care very well for their plants and I end up getting diseased or sickly foliage. But, that aside, now is the best time to go perennial shopping! If your willing to hunt through the cast offs to find some better looking plants, you’ll end up saving quite a lot compared to if you waited until spring. I’ve seen lists like these floating around, so I though I would create my own! Here are my top 10 reasons why gardening is better than sex!

You don’t have to worry about how your breath smells before you garden.
No one gets offended if you send them an email with garden related material in it.
You don’t have to worry about being embarrassed to teach your children about gardening.
It is perfectly acceptable to garden in public.
Telling gardening jokes is a much more acceptable form of entertainment.

Some more great Ideas from Arieanna over at Cooking Gadgets. I was particularly intrigued by her Matchstick Garden. A small garden ready to grow, all contained in a match book. They make great favors for a garden party or any type of party for that matter. They would also make a great project for kids.
