Bloom Report ~ Cherry Blossoms
My little cherry tree is in full bloom right now. I just hope the frost warning we have for next week doesn’t turn into a freeze warning.
I have a peach tree that’s blooming for the first time this year. It’s the peach tree with nine lives. I planted 4 of them a couple years ago and the deer ate the tops out of all of them. Only two survived. About a year and a half ago a deer decided to scrape all the bark off the remaining two peach trees. One died, the other one is still growing in my little orchard. I’ve almost dug it up several times, but I didn’t have the heart to after it’s survived so much.
Last fall I hung tin pie pans all over it during deer rutting season. This spring it’s rewarding me with blooms. It’s not a beautiful tree, but it must be full of heart.
