A Plant Use for Old Wine Corks

by linette on November 6th, 2008

IMG_4445 My sister shared a nifty trick with me the other day. She’s never had much luck with houseplants. When I was over at her house on Sunday one of her plants was looking really green and lush, so I took a closer look. She had wine corks laying all around on top of the soil.

She said she read somewhere that the corks would soak up moisture and help your plants maintain moisture levels between watering.

Since watering her houseplants was her biggest downfall, the corks have been a big help and her houseplants look wonderful. I think I’ll have to give them a try.
