Spring is a great time to plant trees, but fall is also a wonderful time to get fruit trees started in your orchard or garden. The best time to plant fruit trees is when the leaves are starting to go dormant for the winter.

I absolutely love garden hats. They’re even more fun when you decorate them with dried flowers. This time of the year is a great time to dry flowers, even if you haven’t started already.
Make a couple garden hats to add to a Mrs. scarecrow, add to fall displays, wear to a garden party, or fall harvest party. I make them just to wear in the garden. I try not to get too much sun on my face, so I usually wear a hat, why not make it fun?

Here are some 5 things you can do in the fall to get your garden and yard ready for next spring.

Divide and replant perennials. Fall is a wonderful time to divide perennials that have outgrown their space. Get your spade out, dig them up and find a new home for the extras.

Here’s a really cute idea for all those wonderful flowers you’ve been drying over the summer. This little flower pot pumpkin would be wonderful in your fall displays.
The pumpkins are simple to make, just paint a flower pot, and the saucer orange. Paint on the pumpkins face and glue the saucer upside down to the top of the flower pot.

Fall is one of the best times of year to plant a tree. September and October are wonderful months to plant most trees, and many perennials. I’m going to focus on trees in the next couple weeks, so I thought I’d give you a general tree planting tutorial to check out for weekend viewing.
