My Garden Blogger’s February Bloom

Mays Dream Garden has Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day on the 15th of every month.  Since my garden is covered in ice and snow the blooms are a little scarce at my house. I do have a pink geranium in my laundry room that’s happily blooming away while it looks out at the snow.
Since I spent […]

Monday I shared my top 5 favorite herbs, here is the rest of my top ten list.
6. Parsley is loaded with vitamins, so don’t forget to add it to your next salad. It’s great in any fresh dish, vegetable soup, as a fresh garnish. It works very well as a natural breath freshener.

Because of nasty weather and the horrible flu bug going around and the recent server outage, some of the channel wasn’t able to participate. But when it comes to something like Valentine’s Day, […]

Jodi of Bloomingwriter is throwing out a challenge to garden bloggers called Where in the Gardening World Are You? Jodi’s challenge? Tell your readers about the part of the world you’re located in. I think this is an excellent challenge.
Jodi’s from Nova Scotia, Canada. I’m a good bit south of that in Ohio (but I […]

Cowpots: Biodegradable Pots for Seedlings

Gardener’s Supply has eco-friendly biodegradable Cowpots. Matt and Ben Freund, two Connecticut dairy farmers who were looking for an environmentally responsible way to dispose of cow manure, created the Cowpots.
The Cowpots are created from completely composted dry manure, mixed with natural fibers. What impressed me most is that Cowpots are 100% biodegradable. The pots will […]

My Sweet Garden Valentine

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
I grow them both in my garden.
Just for you.
I grow herbs and perennials,
Vegetables too.
I love the flowers,
In every hue.
I love to garden,
Everything green,
I’ve had enough of winter.
I’m ready for spring!
Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
